Great article! As someone who has remote-worked for the last three years, it’s definitely a lifestyle that requires careful attention and planning for both the employee and employer. I’ve witnessed it become a problem for some due to the lack of accountability. Self discipline is heavily required on the employees part, while being extensively monitored by the employer during the initial trial period.

Working remotely can certainly change your lifestyle for the better, but as you discussed, the psychological effects will play an important role on which side you land on. I had just started writing the article below when I reached my three year anniversary of working remotely, days before companies began implementing these protocols to reduce the spread of the virus. My hope is to help people make the situation work for them and not against them.
